Thats probably true. Different timezones are the largest challenge in global company communication, when a direct discussion is necessary. Quality of video- and audio-systems will evolve, but it will always be difficult to use those "synchronous" communication systems when participants are located in very different timezones.

Since it seems to be difficult to reach each other by instant message, I will use that blog comment. Keep up posting things here, it will be read. Now I have finally understood, why some other guys in our company do want a blog system, it's perfect for business travel documentation.
